When absorbing myself in the space, I really felt that each existing element was moving in its own rhythmic timeline whether passing in a fleeting moment or a seemingly solid element ageing at a slower pace. Together creating a continuous kinetic collage which forms urban life.
Observing the space from different perspectives, either from street level looking up or from my window looking down, I recorded these moments on video at various times. Through these actions, I began to notice the shift in rhythms between night and day and I decided to work with these series of contrasts.
I decided to layer these recordings taken from below during the day by projecting them back down into the street at night. As such, creating a projected ephemeral installation only witnessed by those people whose paths coincidentally aligned within this space and time. Through projection, I was able to momentarily distort and challenge the way one perceives an everyday space.
